Geboren 1982 in Paris, aufgewachsen in Somalia und den USA. In ihren Gedichten und Kurzgeschichten beschäftigt sie sich mit Identität, Familie und kulturellen Themen. Sie lebt in Hamburg und ist Mitorganisatorin der unabhängigen Lesereihe AHAB und Leiterin der Factory Hammerbrooklyn.
Diversität ist eines ihrer wichtigsten Themen (…) Dabei denken die meisten an ethnische Vielfalt, doch es geht weit darüber hinaus und umfasst ebenso Merkmale wie Alter, Behinderung, Geschlecht, Weltanschauung und sexuelle Identität.

Days
And so this is how the days go by. Without your permission,
impertinent to your attention. Monday becomes Monday
night and meets Tuesday morning. Tuesday night is ignored
and passed off to Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday night is
saturated with drink leaving Thursday fuzzy and finding Friday
standing clear and open to determine Saturday and Sunday’s
fate. The days don’t mind. They are not judgemental and do
not compete with each other. They stand in the same line
they have always been in since given their names. They
absorb and mirror but never react. They do not take offense
when they are often blamed. They are Time, you do with
them what you want, subject them, object to them, blunt
them through filters of trauma and self-medications.
Indestructible because they are a construct you have made.
